When it comes to setting world records, people from all walks of life and from all over the world really get creative to get themselves, or their organizations/communities, into the record books to cement themselves in history.
The exact number of Guinness World Records held by Canadians is unknown, however the number of current or past records set here is impressive. Canadians can claim they hold the world record for the longest underwater live stream, most people howling simultaneously, largest street hockey tournament, and even the biggest snowball fight, which was set in Saskatoon.
How about the most matches shoved up one’s nose? No, we cannot claim that record thanks to a Swedish man. Martin Stroby is in the Guinness World Record for shoving a whopping 81 matches in his nose to claim the world record. He says he discovered he could really stretch his nostrils in an earlier attempt at this record after his kids inspired him to attempt the record.
The previous record (yes, this has been done before) was 68 matches in a nose. Not only did Stroby “match” the record, he “blew” past it reaching 81.
Good thing he didn’t sneeze half way through the attempt.
