PRINCE ALBERT — Two people have been charged with robbery and resisting arrest following an armed robbery that led Prince Albert Police Service officers on a pursuit Wednesday night.
At about 10 p.m. on Nov. 19, police were dispatched to the area of 28th Street West for a report of a robbery. The initial police information said a vehicle was stolen by two people brandishing knives.
Officers arriving at the scene, found the victim with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and she was assessed by Parkland Ambulance paramedics.
Shortly after, officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle on River Street West. Police activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle didn’t stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Police say due to the level of the violence of the initial call, officers pursued the vehicle.
The pursuit continued and eventually ended up southbound on 2nd Avenue West where the stolen vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersections of 30 Street and 2nd Avenue West.
The two occupants of the stolen vehicle then tried to flee on foot but were arrested by police shortly after.
A 19-year-old man has been charged with resisting arrest, dangerous driving and evading police. A 22-year-old woman has been charged with resisting arrest and breach of an undertaking. Both have been charged with robbery.
