LLOYDMINSTER — Lloydminster RCMP have charged one person and arrested two others following a report of an assault and theft of a vehicle.
According to Lloydminster RCMP, on Nov. 19, officers responded to the initial complaint and located the stolen vehicle right away. RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) were called in to track the suspect(s), which led them to a home in the area of 48 Avenue and 32 Street, the Saskatchewan side of the border city.
Father Gorman School was notified of the heavy police presence in the area but the assessment of the situation revealed no risk to the school, say police.
The home was contained while investigators got a search warrant to enter the home. Inside the home, two people were arrested. A third person was identified and later arrested.
Police charged a 40-year-old woman from Lloydminster with assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.
She was released by a justice of the peace on conditions to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Dec. 15.
