REGINA — The City of Regina will mark the holiday season with the return of a beloved event.
Light the Lights is coming back for its 24th event. The event will go from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 2, in front of City Hall.
Councillors will help lead the countdown to illuminate City Hall and the courtyard. This will create a festival background for the evening.
Included in the event are activities, like wagon rides, interactive ice creations, outdoor games and entertainment.
Santa Claus himself will make an appearance, adding to the holiday festivities.
Children aged 12 and under can participate in their own virtual colouring content, using a colour sheet created by Métis artist Phyllis Poitras-Jarrett of Métis Spirit Art.
Participants can download the sheet online, and entries will be accepted until Dec. 9 for a chance to win a prize draw.
As for parking, the city says streets adjacent to City Hall will be limited to one lane between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
These streets include:
- Smith Street and McIntyre Street, between Victoria Avenue and 12th Avenue;
- Victoria Avenue and 12th Avenue, between Smith Street and McIntyre Street.
Accessible parking is also available on the east side of Smith Street and the west side of McIntyre Street.
More information on the event can be found here.
