SASKATOON — An 18-year-old Prince Albert man is facing multiple charges after Saskatoon Police Service officers responded to reports of a gunshot in Saskatoon’s west end Sunday night.
At about 9:40 p.m. on Nov. 23, officers were called to the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood at 600 block of Avenue X South after a witness reported hearing a shot fired in a parking lot.
When police arrived, they located a suspect nearby in the dog park at the 17th Street West and Avenue W South. According to police, the man refused to stop and fled on foot.
The Saskatoon Police Service Canine Unit was called in and apprehended the suspect in the area of Garfield Street. Police recovered a shot gun and ammunition during the arrest.
The man faces six charges, including obstruction and intentionally discharging a firearm.
Police didn’t release the suspect’s name.
