LLOYDMINSTER – Maidstone RCMP are investigating a fatal collision near Lloydminster.
On Nov. 24 at around 6 p.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a collision near the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 798, about 12 kilometres north of Lloydminster, Sask.
RCMP officers immediately responded along with EMS. The investigation determined that a car and truck collided. The driver and passenger of the truck were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the car was transported to hospital by EMS where he was later pronounced dead. He has been identified as an 88-year-old male from Lloydminster, Alta. His family has been notified.
Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
