WEYBURN — The Weyburn RCMP says it has arrested a man and recovered a stolen snowmobile and trailer following a recent investigation.
The RCMP says it received a report Nov. 8 of a theft from a rural property near the city. The initial investigation determined a flat-deck trailer and snowmobile were taken. According to the RCMP, the theft occurred sometime between the evening of Nov. 7 and the early hours of Nov. 8. The Weyburn RCMP continued to investigate.
As a result of investigation, on Nov. 11, the Weyburn RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Weyburn, where officers located and recovered the stolen snowmobile, which was damaged. Later that day, a man was arrested by the Weyburn RCMP.
The Weyburn RCMP recovered the flat-deck trailer in Weyburn the following day.
Resulting from continued investigation, a 32-year-old Weyburn man is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 under the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Weyburn Provincial Court on Dec. 23.
An investigation is ongoing.
