SASKATOON — Update: Saskatoon RCMP arrested Jason Pacik on Nov. 26 in Saskatoon. He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Jan. 21, 2026.
Original post: Saskatchewan RCMP are turning to the public for help in locating a 42-year-old Saskatoon man who is wanted on fraud charges linked to a custom timber home business that is accused of taking payments for projects it never built.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Jason Pacik, who faces charges of fraud over $5,000 and fraud under $5,000. The charges stem from a lengthy investigation into the Prairie Timber Group, a Saskatoon-based company. According to police, the investigation started in January 2024 after multiple people reported being defrauded.
The victims told police that an individual identifying himself as the owner of Prairie Timber Group claimed to be affiliated with a reputable Ontario-based timber home company. Once payments were sent, victims were no longer able to get in contact with the business, never receiving the projects they paid for.
Since the initial reports, the Saskatchewan RCMP has continued to investigate, including working with the victims and external agencies to gather information and evidence.
“The investigators have already done an immense amount of work on this file – diligently collecting and sorting through evidence, much of which was financial in nature. Their tenacity has led to these charges being laid – and the potential for justice for the victims of these frauds,” says S/Sgt. Billy Groenen, who oversees the Priority Support Unit. “Their work continues. It’s believed that there may be more victims and that’s why we’ve released the name of the involved business. If you think you may have been a victim, please call your local police of jurisdiction.”
It's believed Jason Pacik may be in the Saskatoon area, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
He is 5-foot-7 and has green eyes and brown hair.
