REGINA — Tourism Regina has introduced 3D location pins to support major events and spark shareable moments across the city.
“Canadian Western Agribition was the perfect opportunity to officially launch this innovative and fun concept,” said Jennifer Johnson, Deputy City Manager, Communications, Service Regina & Tourism.
“With visitors coming to Regina from all over Canada and beyond, the pins will be a fun, low-barrier way to share all that is unique about Regina. For residents, they’re also a reminder that a major event is happening right here in our city.”
Placed at signature landmarks, each pin is over eight feet tall and features an oversized QR code and the message “Something’s Happening Here,” inviting selfies, curiosity and exploration.
During Agribition, each pin will offer a unique on-site reward to encourage movement around the city and support local businesses. Prizes range from a sticker of Scotty, Regina's famous T. rex, to $20 gift cards and even the chance for visitors to win a trip back to Regina, valued at over $1,000.
According to Tourism Regina, these oversized markers help build Regina’s reputation by telling the city’s story in a way that is easily shared. They create built-in photo moments that amplify Regina on social media, draw visitors toward local businesses and serve as gathering points that build community pride, a press release states.
