LLOYDMINSTER — Jesse Dillon was sentenced in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court on Nov. 27 to eight days time served for failing to comply with a probation order.
Despite this sentence, the 34-year-old remains in custody. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing that is scheduled in January 2026 in Lloydminster Alberta Court of Justice on armed robbery charges from earlier this year. His co-accused in the robbery, Dakota Frenchman, 24, and Payton Armstrong, 29, are scheduled for a preliminary hearing the same day. Another co-accused in the robbery, Dustin Harper, 28, is scheduled back in court Dec. 2. Several charges against Armstrong, including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and assault of a peace officer, were withdrawn in June. For a charge of resisting a police officer, Armstrong was given 30 days, time served.
In May 2024, as first reported by SaskToday, Dillon was “inadvertently released” when he had appeared in Lloydminster, Sask., court for a bail hearing. According to court documents, the Crown prosecutor in Lloydminster, Sask., Provincial Court had agreed to his release on May 16, 2024. RCMP released Dillon’s photo, warning the public that he was a known violent offender.
Days later, the Meadow Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Team arrested Dillon on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.
In 2023, Saskatoon Provincial Court heard that Dillon was able to run his major drug trafficking operation while behind bars in Prince Albert with the help of his then girlfriend.
