SASKATOON — A 27-year-old man is in custody after an armed robbery on Broadway Avenue on Nov. 27.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, shortly after 3 p.m., officers were called to a business in the 1800 block of Broadway Avenue for a report that an armed robbery had just occurred. It was reported that a man entered the business, threatened a staff member with a knife, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing into another nearby business and robbing it of merchandise.
The suspect fled before police arrived and a police service dog was used to track the suspect. The police dog located the man in the area of Gladmer Crescent. He was arrested and taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of injuries consistent with a dog bite. He was charged with robbery and assault with a weapon.
