GARRICK — On Nov. 26, Nipawin conservation officers received information regarding a cow elk that had been shot and left to waste, approximately one mile east and four miles south of Garrick.
According to the Saskatchewan Association of Conservation Officers Facebook page, officers arrived on scene and collected evidence. The post notes that it does not appear that any edible meat was harvested. There was an antlerless elk hunting season on at the time.
A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual responsible. Anyone with information should contact the provincial toll-free Turn In Poachers and Polluters TIPP line at 1-800-667-7561. Calls are not traced or recorded, and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
