REGINA — Former Regina Mayor Sandra Masters has landed a role in Premier Scott Moe’s chief of staff.
According to a government document, Masters has been appointed deputy chief of staff of communications for the province’s executive council as of Nov. 26.
Masters will be paid $14,421 per month in her new role, according to an Order In Council signed Nov. 26, which is north of $170,000 a year.
Her new role comes roughly one year after she lost the mayoral election to current Mayor Chad Bachynski.
Masters served as Regina’s Mayor from 2020 until 2024. She was the first woman to take the role in Saskatchewan’s two major cities.
She played a role in the city's progress on constructing the Indoor Aquatics Facility, which was approved this year.
Before that, Masters had been on the Regina Exhibition Associations Limited (REAL) board of directors from 2014 until 2020.
