It’s Cyber Monday. But is Black Friday making it obsolete now? Adobe Analytics says Americans set a new record for online shopping on Black Friday, $11.8 BILLION. That’s up about 9% from $10.8 billion last year. The peak was from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, when they were spending $12.5 million per MINUTE. $6.4 billion was also spent online on American Thanksgiving Day.
More than half of those online sales happened on phones this year. And it looks like in-store sales continued to trend down. The feeling among more and more people is why battle the crowds when you can shop from your couch?
More money was spent this year, but did they really BUY more? Some experts think higher prices may have played a part in breaking the record.
I’m at the age where I have no want or need for anything. I’m trying to downsize and unload all my possessions. Except beef! I’ll always accept meat products. A gift card to the butcher shop!
