LLOYDMINSTER — A co-ordinated police operation in Lloydminster last week has resulted in multiple charges against an Alberta man. The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team led the investigation with support from several specialized units in both Saskatchewan and Alberta.
On Nov. 26, members of the Lloydminster CRT executed search warrants at a residence and a vehicle on 56 Avenue in Lloydminster. During the search, officers seized approximately 320 grams of cocaine, approximately 500 grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a quantity of cash. A man was arrested at that location.
That same day, Lloydminster CRT executed a search warrant at a home on 41 Street in Lloydminster. A man was arrested at the scene and later released without charge.
Following the investigation, 31-year-old Brandon Ryall from Elk Point, Alta., has been charged with multiple offences. The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, multiple firearm-related offences including unauthorized possession and careless use, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime, operation while prohibited, and failing to comply with release order conditions.
Ryall appeared in Vegreville Provincial Court Dec. 1.
Officers with Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Trafficking and Response Team (STRT), North Battleford CRT, and Police Dog Services, along with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), Lloydminster RCMP, and National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) assisted in this investigation.
