SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have made another arrest in connection with the 2024 homicide of Timothy Tootoosis, bringing the total number of people charged to eight.
On Dec. 4, members of the Warrant Enforcement Unit arrested a 26-year-old woman wanted in connection to a 2024 homicide. Investigators with the Major Crime Section have since charged her with first degree murder, offering an indignity to human remains, and unlawful confinement. Police didn't release her name.
She remains in custody pending her first court appearance on Dec. 5.
Others charged include Destini Gardypie, Nakita Tootoosis, Vernon Peequaquat, Emmery Aubichon, Michael McCallum, Michael Landry and Donovan Lemstra.
The investigation started on Dec. 18, 2024, when Saskatoon police found a man dead while executing a search warrant at a home in the in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood of the city, in 1700 block of 22nd West. The victim was later identified as Tootoosis.
