It’s that time of year when malls, hotels, banquet facilities, churches, and homes all have their Christmas trees up now. Some are real, some are artificial, and apparently, some are made of balloons.
A hotel in the United Kingdom has put up a 25 foot tall Christmas tree made entirely of balloons – 100,000 balloons in fact. Green balloons form the tree and red and gold-coloured balloons act as its decorations. The entire thing sits inside a snow globe type of structure.
It was Naomi Spencer of a local novelty store that came up with the idea and organized a massive team of people to make the tree come alive. The idea became a fundraiser for charity where people could purchase a balloon to add to the tree in honour of a loved one.
Spencer says the project required several engineers, balloon blowers, and a design team to erect the 25ft, multi-coloured Christmas tree. The tree, located in Sutton, Coldfield, Birmingham, UK, has since become the talk of the region, attracting visitors from all over for pictures and selfies.
