ALBERTA — A Saskatchewan man has been arrested in Alberta and charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault.
Vermillion RCMP say that on Nov. 30 they received a report of a sexual assault at Lakeland College. Following their investigation, Cameron Kelly, 20, of Unity, was arrested on Dec. 4.
Kelly was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermillion on Jan. 5, 2026.
“Gender-based violence is a serious and ongoing issue in Canada and it disproportionately affects women and girls,” said Cst. Jocelyn Hey of the Vermilion RCMP. “Places like Vermilion are not immune. It’s important that, as a community, we work toward educating ourselves and supporting survivors of this type of violence.
