REGINA — Drivers in Regina had a handful with the latest winter storm.
On Tuesday, Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for the city. Throughout the day, wet and slushy roads turned into ice as the temperature suddenly dropped.
For drivers needing assistance, CAA Saskatchewan for Regina saw 157 calls completed.
Additionally, Regina area contractors also completed 20 calls.
As for auto insurance claims related to the storm in Regina, SGI said it’s too early to give numbers out.
“We anticipate more claims will be filed over the coming days and weeks,” noted SGI.
SGI encourages drivers to take caution when driving during a storm.
“If a driver loses control on snow or ice and causes damage by hitting another vehicle or object, this is usually considered negligence, and the responsible driver would be found at fault,” said SGI.
