MEADOW LAKE – Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team (CRT) charged two men after drugs and stolen goods were seized.
On Dec. 9, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team attempted to stop a vehicle near 6th Street in Meadow Lake in relation to an ongoing investigation.
The vehicle did not stop and drove away, but soon after got stuck in a ditch. The officers then arrested the two occupants of the vehicle.
Officers located and seized approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of cocaine, two handgun-style airguns, drug trafficking paraphernalia and several tools that had been reported as stolen to police recently. A photo of some of the seized items is shown.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 37-year-old man, from Flying Dust First Nation, is charged with:
– one count, flight from police;
– one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle,;
– one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and
– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
A 35-year-old man, from Meadow Lake, is charged with:
– one count, flight from police;
– one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
– five counts, fail to comply with a release order;
– four counts, possession of a firearm contrary to order;
– one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and
– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.
The 35-year-old suspect was also charged with an additional count each of flight from police and possession of property obtained by crime, as well as two other counts of fail to comply with release order condition in relation to incidents investigated by Meadow Lake RCMP in the past month.
Both accused appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Dec. 11.
