SASKATCHEWAN — The Alberta clipper that is lashing out at Saskatchewan on Dec. 17 is starting to cause problems on the highways.
According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure’s Highway Hotline, Highway 1 is closed from Rush Lake to Mortlach. Also, travel is not recommended on Highway 1 from Mortlach to Regina and from Rush Lake to Carmichael, on Highway 7 from Kindersley to the Alberta border, and on other routes in southwest, south-central and west-central Saskatchewan.
Other highways in the province are currently listed as covered or partially covered.

A blizzard warning is currently in effect for Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and other areas of the province. A freezing rain warning has been issued for much of the south, while a wind warning is in effect for the southwest.
