SASKATOON — A 24-year-old man was arrested following an early-morning stabbing in the Varsity View neighbourhood over the weekend that left another man hospitalized.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, the incident occurred in the early hours of Dec. 21. At about 2:40 a.m., police were called to the 1300 block of Osler Street after getting a report of an injured man.
Officers arrived to find that the victim had already been taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle before they arrived. Their initial investigation at the scene revealed that there was a physical altercation inside the home between the victim, a 31-year-old man, and the suspect.
At about 4 a.m., officers were able to locate a suspect vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop in an alley at 33rd Street West and Avenue W North.
The suspect, identified as Shyne Leo chance Powder, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
Police say the victim remains in hospital.
