REGINA — Two men charged with first-degree murder in the 2023 death of 32-year-old Roman Miller had more appearances in Regina Provincial Court.
Shredek Samuel appeared on Dec. 15 and is now scheduled to return to court in January 2026. Samuel turned himself in to RCMP in British Columbia in February 2024 and was returned to Saskatchewan. He is out on bail.
Daniel ‘Juma’ Atem appeared in court on Dec. 11. A warrant of committal for Atem had been issued on Dec. 5, and he is also scheduled to return to court in January 2026.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Atem in early 2024. He was later added to Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted BOLO list in April 2024. In October 2024, BOLO expanded its campaign to locate him, putting up a large billboard and offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Atem was arrested in Winnipeg in January 2025.
Both men are charged in connection with the July 29, 2023, killing of Miller in the 2100 block of Broad Street in Regina’s Transitional neighbourhood.
