SASKATCHEWAN — Average gasoline prices across Saskatchewan held steady over the past week, sitting at 117.10 c/L, according to GasBuddy.
The provincial average contrasted with the national picture, where prices fell 0.7 c/L to 122.10 c/L, marking the fifth consecutive week of modest declines across Canada.
Within the province, regional variations remained evident. Regina recorded a weekly drop of 2.1 c/L to 118.67 c/L, while Saskatoon prices declined 1.2 c/L to 112.90 c/L.
Compared to one year ago, Saskatchewan drivers are benefiting from substantially lower fuel costs, reflecting easing demand and strong refinery output.
“For the fifth straight week, the national average price of gasoline in Canada has edged lower, though only modestly,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “With refineries running at seasonally strong output and gasoline inventories building, downward pressure may begin to fade as winter progressess, with prices likely bottoming out in the weeks ahead before gradually rising again heading into spring.”
