REGINA — A 22-year-old man charged in connection with a serious assault in Regina’s downtown in August remains in custody.
Tyler Drugu had an appearance in Regina Provincial Court in December, where his case was adjourned to March. He is charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
The charges stem from an Aug. 28 incident, when Regina Police Service officers responded to a report of a seriously injured man who had arrived at Regina General Hospital around 2 a.m. Police say the man had serious, life-threatening injuries.
The police investigation led officers to the 1900 block of Lorne Street. Witnesses told police an altercation took place in that area, resulting in the man’s injuries.
According to court documents, Drugu faces approximately 17 charges, including an attempted murder charge, which was laid the same day.
