SASKATOON — A 69-year-old man who was extradited from London, UK, to Canada to face historic sexual offences wants a judge-alone trial.
Earl Warren is scheduled to be tried in June in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault and four counts of invitation to sexual touching of a minor, stemming from incidents reported to have occurred between 2010 and 2017 in Saskatchewan.
Warren was returned to Canada in September 2025, after evading court proceedings for more than two years, according to Saskatchewan RCMP. He was first arrested in October 2020 after Saskatoon RCMP received a report in December 2019.
His extradition involved Interpol, the London Metropolitan Police Service, and several Canadian agencies, including the International Assistance Group, Saskatchewan Public Prosecutions, Saskatchewan RCMP, and the Canadian Border Services Agency.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Warren in May 2023 after he failed to appear in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench. Investigators later determined he had fled to London. Following an investigation by the Saskatoon RCMP Detachment, an international alert was issued, and extradition proceedings began. In September 2025, the UK’s High Court denied Warren’s appeal against extradition, clearing the way for RCMP officers to escort him back to Canada.
Saskatchewan RCMP coordinated the extradition with the International Assistance Group, Saskatchewan Public Prosecutions, the National Crime Agency in London, UK, as well as the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), Alberta RCMP Air Services, and the Airdrie RCMP Detachment.
