BATTLEFORD — A Big Island Lake man will stand trial for the killing of 39-year-old Sonya Houle.
A judge-alone trial has been set for January 2027 in Battleford Court of King’s Bench for Marchant Kiseyinewakup.
He was arrested in September 2024, just days after police discovered Houle’s body on the First Nation. Officers found her dead inside a home on Sept. 12, 2024, after responding to reports of an injured person.
Kiseyinewakup is charged with second-degree murder.
