The Saskatchewan Roughriders have officially released wide receiver Dohnte Meyers, allowing the American pass catcher to pursue an NFL opportunity.
Meyers departs Regina coming off a breakout 2025 campaign that saw him emerge as one of the CFL’s most dangerous deep threats. The speedy receiver hauled in 65 passes for 1,056 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging an eye-opening 16.2 yards per catch. He topped the 100-yard mark four times during the regular season, routinely stretching defences and flipping field position.
One of his most memorable performances came in Week 18 against Ottawa, when Meyers torched the Redblacks’ secondary for 156 yards and a touchdown on just six receptions — a staggering 26.3 yards per catch.
When the lights were brightest, Meyers delivered. In the Western Final, his 21-yard reception helped set up Tommy Nield’s go-ahead touchdown, a pivotal moment that sent the Roughriders to the Grey Cup. He followed that up with a flawless showing on championship night, catching all four of his targets for 76 yards as Saskatchewan captured the franchise’s fifth Grey Cup.
Signed ahead of the 2024 season, Meyers quickly became a fan favourite with his big-play ability and postseason poise, making his mark over two seasons in Green and White.
The Roughriders thanked Meyers for his contributions to the club and wished him well as he takes the next step in his football journey south of the border.
According to 3Down Nation Meyers has signed a futures contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
