REGINA — A 29-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after police say she stole a vehicle drove it erratically through central Regina.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Jan.9, the Regina Police Service received a report that a vehicle had just been stolen from a business in the 1800 block of 11th Avenue. Officers were able to quickly locate the vehicle which had one occupant, the driver. The vehicle was travelling north on Broad Street, driving erratically and swerving in and out of the driving lanes. Officers didn’t pursue the vehicle but followed from a distance.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle and driver in an alley in the 1100 block of Athol Street. The female suspect, who was displaying signs of significant impairment, was taken into custody with the assistance of the RPS Tactical Support Team.
She was charged with failing to comply with a breathalyzer demand and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
She will appear in Regina Provincial Court on Feb. 18.
