SASKATOON — One man has been arrested following a traffic stop Sunday morning in the city’s downtown.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, around 2 a.m. on Jan. 11, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling in the area of Pacific Avenue and 23rd Street East. When speaking with the driver, open alcohol was observed inside the vehicle. Following a search of the vehicle, officers located bear spray, drug trafficking paraphernalia, various suspected drugs, a baton, and a firearm.
The driver, a 35-year-old man, was arrested without incident and charged with several weapons- and drug-related offences. He was also ticketed under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act for having open alcohol in a vehicle.
