LITTLE RED RIVER — Prince Albert RCMP are investigating an armed robbery at Little Red River.
On Jan. 9 at around 11 a.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of an armed robbery in the community of Little Red River.
The investigation determined two suspects went to a house in the community of Little Red River with a shotgun and demanded keys to the resident’s truck, in which they fled. No injuries were reported to police.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., RCMP officers located the stolen truck on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. They attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle backed into a ditch and the occupants fled. After a short foot pursuit, the driver and two passengers were arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old suspect, from Montreal Lake Cree Nation, a 20-year-old suspect, from the community of Little Red River, and a 40-year-old suspect, from Sturgeon Lake First Nation, are each charged with:
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
- three counts, armed robbery;
- one count, break and enter with intent;
- one count, pointing a firearm;
- three counts, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; and
- one count, firearms possession contrary to order.
- one count, flight from peace officer; and
- one count, resist/obstruct peace officer.
