REGINA — A Regina man is facing child-exploitation charges following a cross-provincial investigation into the sextortion of a 15-year-old boy.
According to the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, in June 2025 the Ontario Provincial Police alerted investigators to a complaint from a teenage victim. Police say a man living in Regina posed online as a teenage girl and convinced the youth to send a nude photo. After receiving the image, the suspect demanded money from the victim, say police.
The file was transferred to the Saskatchewan ICE Unit, which continued the investigation. They charged Munachi Chizura Anuka, 25, of Regina, on Jan. 13 with accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and extortion.
Anuka made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Jan. 14 and was released on conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 29.
