ESTEVAN — One person has been charged after a vehicle was reported stolen from a business in the east industrial area of Estevan.
According to the Jan. 20 report from the Estevan Police Report, the vehicle was located by the Regina Police Service while being operated by a man in the Queen City during the nightshift. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested for possession of stolen property.
The EPS said the vehicle will be returned to the owner and additional charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
EPS members investigated a report of an assault between commonlaw partners. As a result of the investigation, the EPS said a man was charged with one count of assault and subsequently released with conditions. He will make a first appearance in Estevan Provincial Court in March to speak to the matter.
Police received a report of a man panhandling and causing a disturbance at a local restaurant. On contact with EPS members, it was determined he was under the influence of drugs. He was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in cells to be released when sober.
