REGINA — The City of Regina is planning to complete the Orange Buffalo Lodge project this summer.
The 30-unit affordable housing project located near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Albert Street stalled in November 2024 after government funding ran out.
Regina city council in September 2025 voted to pledge upwards of $3 million from the Housing Accelator Fund to finish construction.
Last week, Westridge Construction Ltd. confirmed it would be overseeing the rest of the construction.
“Westridge has been contracted to take on this important project. Construction will resume as soon as possible, and the expected date of completion is summer 2026,” said the city in a statement.
The city added,” supporting the development of affordable housing and meeting the needs of vulnerable residents continues to be one of the city’s top priorities.”
On their website, it is said that the lodge will assist low-income children, youth, seniors and families seeking a higher-quality life.
Each person staying at the lodge will be provided with a caseworker, volunteers and professional support.
Additionally, the North Central Family Centre previously committed $4 million for a community hub in the building.
