YORKTON — Two men charged with kidnapping with a firearm, following an incident in Yorkton, have appeared in court again.
On Jan. 20, Mounties say a man was in a parked vehicle on Fourth Avenue North, when two men wearing face coverings, forced him out of the vehicle at gunpoint, placed him in a separate SUV, and drove away.
Police spotted an SUV matching the description on Highway 10, heading towards Melville, but it wouldn't pull over.
The vehicle then hit the ditch, and the suspects were arrested.
A search of the SUV turned up a loaded firearm, a firearm magazine, ammunition, about 88 grams of cocaine, abut 88 grams of crystal meth, and about 16 grams of fentanyl.
24-year-old Preston Carroll and 20-year-old Dante Douglas, both of Fort McMurray, Alberta, appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court Jan. 27 for their bail hearings, where they were remanded in custody to Feb. 4, for the judge's decision.
