SASKATOON — Police have charged a 45-year-old man after officers with the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit seized a handgun, ammunition, drugs, and thousands of illegal cigarettes during a late-night raid of a business in the Central Industrial neighbourhood
According to police, members of the guns and Gangs Unit, supported by the Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant at approximately 11 p.m. on Jan. 25 at a business in the 700 block of Idylwyld Drive North.
Officers arrested Thomas Ricfhard Sutherland, 45, and seized drugs and weapons. He faces seven drug and weapons charges. They included a .40 calibre handgun, .40 calibre ammunition, 9-millimetre ammunition, .223 ammunition, 2,700 illegal cigarettes, 15.42 grams of fentanyl, 0.60 grams of cocaine, and 4.0 grams of methamphetamine.
A 43-year-old woman at the location was arrested on outstanding warrants.
