NORTH BATTLEFORD – A North Battleford man, Blaisen Nicotine, remains in custody as his case continues to be adjourned on numerous sex-related charges involving minors.
Nicotine’s matter was back in North Battleford Provincial Court on Feb. 3 when it was scheduled to be spoken to. Instead, the matter was adjourned to Feb. 24. He had previously been expected to make an election on Jan. 14, but the matter was adjourned to Feb. 3 to be spoken to.
Nicotine is charged with sexual assault, making child pornography, distributing child pornography, and possessing child pornography. Police say one incident occurred at a school.
He is also charged with sexual assault of a youth under 16 in November 2024. In that incident he is also charged with making child pornography, possessing child pornography and distributing child pornography, and communicating with a person under the age of 18 for the purpose facilitating a sexual offence to make child pornography.
A publication ban is in place to protect the identities of the victims.
There have been numerous adjournments in the case against Nicotine. He has remained in custody since his arrest February 2025. This means if he is sentenced, he will receive 1.5 days’ credit for each day spent in custody on remand.
