PUNNICHY— A 36-year-old Regina man is facing multiple charges after a break and enter and arson on George Gordon First Nation.
Punnichy RCMP say officers were called to a residence on the First Nation at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, after a fire was reported.
Police and local fire services responded, with no injuries reported. The home sustained heavy damage.
Later that day, at around 12:45 p.m., RCMP received additional reports of a man walking with a firearm on George Gordon First Nation. Officers located and arrested the suspect.
Police say their investigation determined the man had broken into a residence, stolen a firearm and intentionally started the fire.
As a result, 36-year-old Myles Anderson of Regina is charged with one count of arson, one count of break and enter to steal a firearm, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of unsafe storage of a firearm and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Anderson appeared in Punnichy provincial court on Monday, Feb. 3.
