REGINA — The University of Regina (U of R) is making headway in the Hardwater Havoc.
The university has landed in second place for the ice-fishing competition in the North-Central Division.
The Hardwater Havoc sees universities/colleges in Canada and the U.S. face off against each other in a mixture of on-ice competition and real-world fisheries science.
As of Monday, the U of R sits second in the division with 372 points, trailing the first-place Lethbridge Polytechnic (519 points).
The U of R remains in striking distance of the division with two-weeks left.
Led by a student captain, U of R’s team is supported by Professor Chris Somers, who introduced ice-fishing to students and organized fishing trips.
The competition runs through mid-February.
