REGINA — Standing Buffalo local Michael Redman said he was having a slower holiday morning when he discovered his $500,000 Lotto Max win.
“I was sitting around doing nothing, so I decided to check the ticket on the [Lotto Spot] app,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it!”
Redman called his family to tell them right away.
“They thought I was joking at first!” he laughed.
Now, Redman intends to put his windfall to good use: “I have two daughters, so this will benefit them,” he explained. “And I’m going to pay off my SUV… the rest is up in the air right now.”
“It’s unreal! I’m still in shock!” he smiled.
Redman purchased his winning Lotto Max ticket from Buffalo Crossing Convenience and Gas Bar at Hwy 210 and 56 Fort Qu’Appelle on Standing Buffalo Reserve. He won his prize on the Dec. 26 raw by matching a Maxmillions selection: 7, 12, 16, 17, 18, 37 and 47. Another winning ticket matching the same selection was purchased in Ontario and the two winners split the $1 million prize.
