REGINA — The matters against a Regina man charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death are scheduled to be back in Regina provincial court March 12.
The charge against Biniam Emaha, 44, was heard briefly in provincial court Thursday morning, Feb. 12.
It was Emaha’s first court date since being released from custody, but he was not present in court for this latest appearance and a request from counsel to adjourn to March 12 was granted.
Emaha was charged following a fatal collision that killed a 19-year-old Marvellous Ugochukwu Chijindu in Regina’s North Central neighbourhood in October 2025.
At the time, Regina police reported a freight truck travelling east on Dewdney Ave. had failed to stop for a red light at Elphinstone St. and struck a southbound vehicle. Police said the truck then crashed into the bus shelter where the woman had been standing.
Emaha was arrested and charged by Regina Police on Jan. 27 and made a brief court appearance, after which he was released on several conditions including a driving prohibition.
