PRINCE ALBERT — RCMP have identified the victim in a suspicious death investigation in Prince Albert as 39-year-old Stacey Badger of Mistawasis Nêhiyawak (Mistawasis First Nation).
On Feb. 4, officers had responded to a report of a truck stuck in a field about 40 km east of Prince Albert. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Jan. 29 and was towed to a business on 41st Street East.
On Feb. 7, Prince Albert Police Service responded to a fire at the same location. Several vehicles were burning, including the stolen truck. The fire was deemed suspicious.
Two days later, police discovered a deceased person inside the truck while examining the scene.
RCMP Homicide Unit took over the investigation and continue to collect and analyze evidence. They are now asking the public for their assistance.
Police are seeking witnesses, video footage, and anyone who had recent contact with Badger.
