The advisory states a strong low-pressure system will bring an abrupt return to winter across much of southern Saskatchewan, beginning early Feb. 15.
Environment Canada says to expect 15-25 centimetres of snow, possibly reaching 30-40 centimetres from Meadow Lake southeastward towards Yorkton. Poor visibilities could occur in falling and blowing snow. .
Freezing rain will also be possible, mainly near and south of the Trans-Canada Highway southward to the international border. Environment Canada says poor travel conditions can be expected Feb. 17 and 18 across the province.
“In addition, a return to winter-like temperatures can be expected across the province in the wake of this system,” the advisory states.
