A youth has been charged with second-degree murder after a homicide on Star Blanket Cree Nation.
RCMP say File Hills First Nations Police responded to a call just after midnight on Wednesday, where officers found an adult man dead inside a home and arrested a teenage male at the scene.
Because File Hills Police don’t have a major crimes unit, the investigation was turned over to RCMP.
The teen is charged with second-degree murder and cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police say the victim and accused knew each other.
The youth is scheduled to appear in Fort Qu’Appelle Provincial Court on Thursday.
