Do you profess to be an expert at reading music? Do you know how to shake your money maker? Are you looking for a way to meet new people and support a professional football team?
The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club is amping up for the 2026 season. As the “Countdown to Kick-off Clock” counts down to a new season, new faces are welcome to fill in some important roles.
If you play a brass instrument, woodwind, or percussion and are over the age of 19, plus can read music, the 620 CKRM Saskatchewan Roughrider Pep Band is looking for you. They will gather on March 15th at Fly Fitness in Regina. Bring your instrument and get ready to play away, find out what the schedule and commitment is all about. Speaking from first hand experience, you can’t find a more dedicated group of musicians that make every appearance a special one.

What is football if you don’t have the cheer squad to get you off your feet and let’s say they add sizzle to those Grey Cup party rooms and activities when and wherever they appear. The Play 92.1 Rider Cheer team is holding In-Person Auditions at Level 10 Fitness on Friday, February 27th at 7:30 PM. You must register your attendance by this Wednesday, February 25th. Find the details at Riderville.com.

Our Harvard radio stations have been proud supporters of the music and the dance that has become the basis of what football is to Saskatchewan. Volunteers are a huge part of your game day experience as well. So, let’s help the Roughriders obtain some community minded people to be part of the Sask Energy Rider Squad. Super Fans and Super Volunteers do become one with this opportunity. Details on “HOW TO BECOME” are available at Riderville.com

And thank you to all those that have reached out asking for more face time with the GREY CUP. Is there a place in Canada that shows more love to that trophy and the sport of football? Just one more thing and it is important. Cameco’s Touchdown for Dreams. This is the 15th Anniversary of Touchdown For Dreams, the program will be offering 15 Dreams. Each of these dreams is valued at a maximum of $15,000 each. Launched in 2011, the program has fulfilled the dreams of more than 100 women in Saskatchewan living with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis.

The deadline for application is midnight February 27th.

I salute the life and passion for the game with this post. Shauna Blackmer sat in Section 26 and into Section 140 with her family. Shauna battled hard against cancer. She attended games, stood proud amongst the section cheering on the great plays and those that were groaners over the years. Shauna’s family just moved to the West side of Mosaic, behind the Rider bench, but Shauna will always be an East-sider! Shauna passed May 27, 2020. She would be so proud of that 112th Grey Cup victory.
