A wild overtime finish in Flin Flon, a statement win in Weyburn and a pair of streaks extended headlined a busy Saturday night across the SJHL.
Melville Millionaires 4 – Flin Flon Bombers 5 (OT)
The Melville Millionaires stormed back in the third period to force overtime and earn a crucial point, but the Bombers prevailed 5-4 in extra time.
Leo Seitz scored the winner with 45 seconds left in overtime, keeping Flin Flon perfect at home this season at 22-0.
Daniel Morozov scored twice for the Bombers, with Nathan Lalumier and Maverick Deslisle adding singles. Hudson Binder had two goals for Melville, while Riley Craigen and Yibin Yoo also scored.
Charlie Tritt made 29 saves for the win. Matthews Spencer-Dahl started for Melville before Massimo Urbani came on in relief.
With the point, the Millionaires moved into seventh place in the standings, one point ahead of Kindersley and two up on Humboldt. Melville returns to action Tuesday hosting La Ronge.
Weyburn Red Wings 8 – Kindersley Klippers 1
Weyburn Red Wings delivered one of its most dominant performances of the season, routing the Kindersley Klippers 8-1.
Aidan Mohan scored twice, while Swan River’s Will Munro had four assists. Josh Sale, Callas Pierce, Drew Molde, Turner McIntyre, Wyatt Lacoste and Rylan Pearce also found the scoresheet.
Nate Stevens stopped 28 shots for the win. Ethan Sautner had the lone goal for Kindersley, which has now dropped four straight.
The Red Wings pull within two points of Yorkton for the Bunge Division lead.
Nipawin Hawks 7 – Humboldt Broncos 3
The Nipawin Hawks stretched their winning streak to three games with a 7-3 victory over Humboldt.
Braeden Jockims scored twice, while Eric Hoiness had a goal and three assists. Will Whitter, Sean Shiels, Noah Derouin and Konnor Watson also scored.
Gage Roberts made 41 saves for his 21st win of the season.
Melfort Mustangs 5 – La Ronge Ice Wolves 3
The defending champion Melfort Mustangs won their eighth straight game with a 5-3 road victory in La Ronge.
Dru Mushumanski led the way with two goals and an assist as Melfort’s powerplay went 2-for-4. Nolan Patterson, Bo Eisner and Cooper Atkinson also scored.
Waylon Gardipy, Connor Hoemsen and Grayden Perozni replied for the Ice Wolves, who have now lost eight straight.
Estevan Bruins 1 – Warman Wolverines 2
Cam Sarna’s powerplay goal midway through the third period lifted the Wolverines to a 2-1 home win.
Riley Rich-Holden opened the scoring before Carter Onrait tied it for Estevan in the second.
Griffin Wright stopped 33 of 34 shots in the victory, while Dylan Adams made 20 saves in the loss.
