Saskatchewan Roughrider fans love their traditions — the watermelon helmets, the pilgrimage to the SportsCage Lounge, and that unmistakable buzz that takes over the REAL District on game day.
Now, beginning in 2026, the Green and White are adding something fans have been clamouring for for years: official tailgating at Mosaic Stadium.
After months of work alongside the Government of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, the Riders are set to launch a fully regulated tailgate zone on the REAL grounds, a place where fans can fire up the grill, crack a cold one, and settle in with fellow members of Rider Nation before kickoff.
And in true Saskatchewan fashion, demand is already sky-high.
Because space in the new tailgate area is limited, the Club is kicking things off with a Season Ticket Member lottery. Members can enter by logging into Account Manager or using a link emailed out earlier today.
For fans who haven’t yet locked in their 2026 seats, there’s still time — season tickets remain available, and purchasing them makes you eligible for a tailgate spot.
On game days, the tailgate area will be walk-up friendly for the public. If you want to roam around, take in the atmosphere, and soak up the energy, you’re welcome.
But the actual tailgate passes, the ones that secure your parking and setup space, are reserved for Season Ticket Members only in 2026. No single-game passes will be made available, although the Club says expanded public access could come in future seasons.
While the final regulatory language is still being hammered out with the province, the Riders have confirmed a few key points:
- Approved tailgaters will be allowed to bring their own alcohol (within provincial rules).
- You can also cook your own food right in your designated space.
- Each successful applicant will receive two side-by-side parking stalls — one for the vehicle, one for tailgate gear.
The cost: $500 for the full season, which works out to $50 per game and includes any potential home playoff game at no extra charge.
Fans have until March 5 to throw their name in. Winners will be contacted in April by their Rider Account Representative.
There’s no charge to enter; payment is only required once a pass is formally offered.
