SASKATOON — A 31-year-old man arrested with a machete following an assault at a west-side restaurant and lounge appeared in court on Feb. 23. His matter was adjourned to Feb. 25 for a bail hearing.
Dylan Blake Ahenakew is charged with aggravated assault, along with two counts each of possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and mischief.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 26, Saskatoon police patrol officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Avenue W South in Pleasant Hill, where they found a man suffering from serious injuries. Police determined the victim had been involved in a physical altercation with two other men inside a restaurant and lounge in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West.
On Jan. 31, officers identified and arrested a suspect after observing him get into a taxi in the 200 block of St. Paul’s Place. A machete was found in his possession at the time of arrest.
