Police arrest wanted man in Prince Albert

PINEHOUSE – Update, March 2: Prince Albert Police Service have arrested wanted man Thomas Hunt on Feb. 28 in Prince Albert.

He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on March 2.

Original post, Feb. 24: Pinehouse RCMP are asking the public to report sightings of wanted man Thomas Hunt.

On Feb. 23, Pinehouse RCMP received a report that a male inmate escaped from Besnard Lake Correctional Camp. Pinehouse RCMP have been working to locate the man and are now asking the public to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 36-year-old Thomas Hunt.

Thomas Hunt was last seen at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Besnard Lake Correctional Camp.

As a result of the investigation, Thomas Hunt is now charged with one count, being unlawfully at large, and one count, escape lawful custody. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Hunt is described as:

• Height: 5 ft 9 in
• Weight: 165 lbs
• Eye colour: brown
• Hair colour and style: brown
• Last seen wearing: brown Carhartt pants and a black/brown winter coat

Hunt is known to travel to the La Ronge and Prince Albert areas, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

Pinehouse RCMP continue to investigate.
