PUNNICHY — A new court date has been set for a Muskowekwan First Nation man on charges stemming from the shooting of an RCMP officer on the reserve.
Last July, an incident in the community involving a firearm left an RCMP officer with non-life-threatening injuries, and a dangerous person alert was issued for 28-year-old Elijah Albert, who was captured a short time later in a rural area near Lestock.
Albert appeared in Punnichy Provincial Court on Feb. 24 on four charges, including attempted murder and uttering threats.
He remains in custody and will be back in court March 3.
